In order to weed out bogus ration cards, Karnataka govt is going to introduce the system of submission of applications for new ration cards in “online” from 19.11.2011. Those who do not have ration cards can apply through online . The concerned website is http://ahara.kar.nic.in for submitting online applications. Those who do not have online computer facility can visit the department office and avail the facilities by paying Rs.10 per application.
Tamil nadu govt also should introduce the same so that it can reduce subsidy on ration supplies.
Those who are not interested in getting any ration supplies can ignore ration cards as now Aadhar is coming soon to replace as universal identity card for indians for residence proof and identity proof.
